What does the New badge on a model mean?
The amber New chip marks a model added to LUVI recently; it is set with an expiry date when the model is onboarded — usually about a month after release — and disappears by itself when that date passes.
What the chip is
Each model record carries a new until date. While that date is in the future, the model shows an amber New chip in the catalogue, on its family page and in the Workspace's model picker. When the date passes the chip is gone; nothing else about the model changes.
How the date is chosen
The date is set by hand when the model is published, and the convention is thirty days after the model went live on LUVI. Older onboardings used a fixed date instead. There is no automatic rule, so a family launched together shares one date.
What "new" does not mean
- Not a beta. A model is published only after its schema, its inputs and its price have been verified with real generations.
- Not a promotion. The price follows the provider's price like every other model.
- Not a ranking. The catalogue does not sort by the chip; it is a visual cue only.
Following additions
- /changelog lists each model on the day it was added, with its starting price.
- The RSS feed at /changelog/rss.xml carries the same entries.
- The catalogue's family pages group siblings, so a new tier of a family you already use appears next to the ones you know.

No. Every model is onboarded the same way: schema checked, price verified against the provider with real generations, then published.

The What's new page at /changelog lists every model, feature and price change with its date.
Do New models cost more?
No. A new model is priced the same way as every other model: from the provider's price, with LUVI's markup for that model.
