How do credits work and how much does a generation cost?
Everything on LUVI is priced in credits: each model page shows what a generation starts from, the Workspace shows the exact estimate before you confirm, and you are charged when the result is delivered — never more than the estimate.
What a credit is
A credit is LUVI's single unit of payment. You buy credits in packs or receive them with a plan, and every generation, every storage block and every workflow step is priced in that same unit. You never see a provider's dollar price inside the product — only credits.
How a price is built
- Starting price. Each model page says "from N credits" for its default settings — for example a 5-second clip at the base resolution, or one image.
- Estimate. In the Workspace the estimate is recalculated for the settings you chose. For most models it comes from a live quote to the provider; for the rest, from the provider's published rate.
- Charge. When the result arrives, the charge is settled against what the provider actually billed. It can be lower than the estimate; it is never higher.
What makes a generation more expensive
- Higher resolution and longer duration on video models — usually linear per second.
- More outputs per run.
- On lip-sync and audio-driven models, the length of the audio or video you supply.
- On a few image models, a per-image input fee for each reference you attach.
Where to check
Account → Billing → Transactions lists every charge with the model, the prompt and the project. The same numbers are available to Claude and ChatGPT through the connector.
Frequently asked
Where do I see how many credits I have?
In the header of the app and on Account → Billing, which also lists every purchase and every charge.
Why does the price change while I edit settings?
Resolution, duration, number of outputs and the length of an audio or video reference all change the provider's price, so the estimate follows them live.
Do failed generations cost credits?
No. A generation that fails is not charged.
