Why was I charged a different amount than the estimate?
The estimate is a hold; the charge is the provider's real, settled price for that exact generation — so the final amount can be lower than the estimate, but it is never higher, and a failed generation costs nothing.
What the estimate is
Before you generate, LUVI asks the provider for a quote (or applies the provider's published rate) for the settings you chose. That number is shown next to the button and reserved as a hold on your balance.
What the charge is
When the result is delivered, LUVI reads the price the provider actually settled for that job and charges that, capped at the estimate. For a flat-priced image the two are identical. For models that bill on the real output — a text model's real token usage, a clip's real audio length — the settled price is often a little lower.
Cases you will see
- Charged less than estimated — the provider settled lower. Normal.
- Charged exactly the estimate — flat-priced model, or the settled price met the hold.
- Charged nothing — the generation failed. Failed runs are never billed.
- Two results, one charge — some models return two files for one job (music models, for example); the charge is per job, not per file.
If something looks wrong
Open Account → Billing → Transactions and find the generation. If the amount does not match what the page above describes, write to billing@luvicreator.com with the generation link.
Frequently asked
Can the charge ever be more than the estimate?
No. The estimate is the ceiling. If the provider's settled price is higher, you still pay the estimate.
Why was it lower?
Some models bill on what was actually produced — the real token count, the real audio length — rather than on the worst case the estimate has to assume.
Where do I see the final amount?
Account → Billing → Transactions, on the line for that generation.
