What do I get when I download, the original or a preview?
Always the original file — the full-resolution image, the master video, the audio or 3D as the provider delivered it — with your tags written in as keywords; the small previews LUVI shows in the grid are never what you download, and for videos you can optionally add the scrub proxy and marker files.
The download modal
Select a file and press Download (or right-click → Download). The modal lists what is available:
- Original — the file exactly as stored, selected by default for every type.
- For videos: Scrub — the 480p all-intra proxy — and markers as XMP or FCPXML sidecars, if you set markers in the player.
Pick what you want and confirm. The filename is the name you gave the file (or LUVI's pattern), and the file's tags are embedded as keywords so that Lightroom, Bridge and NLEs can read them.
The previews you see in the app
To keep the library fast, LUVI stores small copies next to every original:

None of these are offered for download except the scrub proxy, and none replaces the original.
Bulk downloads
With several files selected, Download fetches every original and packs them into one ZIP in the browser; videos with a scrub proxy can include it. Large batches take time — the ZIP is built locally.
What a teammate downloads
A file shared with a teammate downloads as your original for them too.

Why does my browser show a smaller image than the download?
The grid and the viewer show a 600 px or 2,048 px preview to load fast. The download is the full file.
What is the scrub proxy?
A lightweight 480p copy of a video made for frame-accurate scrubbing in editing tools. It is offered next to the original; the original is still the master.
Can I download many at once?
Select them and press Download; they are packed into a ZIP in your browser, originals only.
