What is the difference between a project and a folder?
A project is a Workspace with its own results, settings, rating and sharing; a folder is a way to sort files inside a project — nested as deep as you like — and a file can also live in the Library with no project at all.
Projects
A project is where you generate. Opening one opens its Workspace, and every result made there belongs to it. On the Projects page each project is a card you can:
- rename and give a thumbnail;
- rate 1–5 and bookmark, which sorts it to the front;
- lock, so it cannot be deleted by accident;
- resize and reorder on the grid;
- share with a teammate, who then works in it as an editor;
- trash — it can be restored for 24 hours, then it is purged.
Projects also carry tags; adding a tag to a project adds it to all of the project's results.
Folders
A folder lives inside a project and holds files. Create one from the Library toolbar, nest folders inside folders, drag files between them. A folder does not change what a file is or who can see it; it is only where it sits in the tree. Trashing a folder keeps its files: they show at the project root and return to the folder if you restore it within 24 hours.
Files without a project
Uploads made from the Library root, with Library (no project) chosen, have no project. They appear in the Library under no label and can be moved into a project later.
Choosing which to use
- One client, one campaign, one film → a project.
- Drafts, selects, delivered → folders inside it.
- Reference material you reuse across projects → keep it at the Library root and pick it from the drawer in any Workspace.
Frequently asked
What does locking a project do?
It prevents deletion. A locked project cannot be trashed, alone or in a bulk delete; everything else about it still works.
Can a folder be shared?
Sharing is per project. Share the project and the collaborator sees all its folders.
Can folders be nested?
Yes, without a depth limit. Moving a folder into one of its own subfolders is refused.
